The problem
The existing process for managing deceased estate shares was outdated, confusing, and took on average 51 days for users to complete.
The solution
Interviewed 11 participants across key user groups to hear about their experiences with the transfer process, identify pain points, and find/validate what areas have room for improvement.
The results
-
Validated our assumption that most users would be open to fully digital processes
-
Uncovered a major paint point we had missed which further justified our choice to introduce facial recognition for IDV
-
4 additional desirable features flagged for potential future releases
My role
-
Wrote moderation guide
-
Scheduled interviews
-
Interviewed 8 of the 11 users
-
Took and organized notes
-
Worked with the senior designer to affinity map the notes and gather key insights

The problem
The investor center mobile app needed to be updated to the newly created design system UI before the target launch date just a handful of weeks away.
The solution
Recreated 90+ screens over the span of 2 weeks using the new design system (that was still actively being worked on) and created hand-off specs for the engineering team.
The results
-
Completely updated UI for the entire app about 80% faster than originally quoted
-
Proof that the time and effort put into creating a design system is worth it
-
Executive confidence in the future of the design system
My role
-
Uplifted the entire app in Figma to utilize the design system components
- Helped create hand-off specs
- Presented the uplifted UI to key stakeholders and executives

The problem
Dominion’s help website wasn’t consistent with the rest of their branding and was difficult for users to navigate.
The solution
Updated information architecture to better organize and present the information and a UI uplift to match Dominion’s current look and feel.
The results
-
An estimated ~10% increase in site traffic
-
Several customers complimented the new look and feel
-
CEO was happy with the end result
My role
-
Restructured the site's IA
-
Created reusable page templates
-
Hacked the CSS to allow customization to the sidenav (something ProProfs customer service insisted was not an available option)

The problem
Nemak was looking to update their brand to better reflect their company’s values of innovation, lightness, and sustainability, as well as find a way to stand out from the competition.

An updated logo
- A new branding system
- A brand style guide that included direction for photography, tone of voice, use of the logo as a super-graphic, etc.
My role
-
Designed a new brand option to be presented to the client
-
Refined and expanded upon the branding (mine was the chosen option)
-
Put together the brand book and created examples of the new brand in use in print, digital, and environmental situations

The problem
Our clients needs were not being met with our basic employee list report. They wanted an organization chart that could be accessed within Dominion’s software and could be printed.
The solution
Added an exportable traditional organization chart. Also created a second "birds-eye view" of the reporting chain of roles to improve usability within the software.
The results
-
Clients were able to print out a traditional organization chart
-
Interactive organization chart within Dominion
-
Birds-eye view was well received as a solution to quickly see the chain of command for each role
My role
-
Worked with PM to determine requirements
-
Came up with and pitched the birds-eye view option to key stakeholders after better understanding user needs
-
UI designs and hand-off specs

The problem
I noticed modals were inconsistent across the project I was on. This seemed to be because we had multiple designers, including contractors, on the project but no defined modal patterns.
The solution
Define a consistent format and bring all modals across the project into alignment.
The results
-
Consistent modals across the project
-
Time saved because designers could often reuse common modals instead of designing a new one for their feature
My role
-
Researched best practices for modal design
-
Consulted with the Global Design Team
-
Created a guide for modal language and creation within the project
